What We Believe

The Trinity: God

Is one God that is manifest in The Father, The Son, and Holy Spirit who was, and is currently active in the world today, and is to come.

Gen 1:1-4, John 1:1

Jesus:

Born of a virgin and has revealed Himself through the Old Testament and the prophets. His claim is that He is God. He lived a sinless life and encountered the struggles and temptations of life. He overcame the same junk we fail at. He was murdered on a cross and it is by His blood that our sins are atoned. He was placed in a tomb and was raised on the third day. He was seen by over five hundred people and He walked on the earth after His resurrection for forty days. He then ascended to heaven and has taken His rightful place at the right hand of the Father.

Isaiah, Gospels, Acts, Revelation

Holy Spirit:

Jesus promised that after He left He would send us The Helper. This happened in Acts chapter 2. The Spirit now takes the place of the old sacrifices and we are now able to be indwelled by the Spirit upon salvation. Through the Spirit He imparts gifts to each believer to edify the church and the believer. The Spirit enables us to live a life that reflects Christ and draws us closer to Him through sanctification. He empowers us to go out and live bold lives for Jesus and to bring Him honor and not ourselves.

Acts 2, 1 Corinthians 12

The Word:

The Bible is the infallible, perfect Word of God written through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is the guide for living a life worthy of our calling. It is alive and speaks to our hearts and is relevant even in our time today. His Word will never end. It is the same and it will never change from eternity past through eternity future. John 1, Hebrews 6:17, 13:8, 1 Peter 1:25

Church:

The church age started on the day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2. The early Body of Believers met from home to home. Our culture sees the church as a building, and we see it as the body. Each true believer of Christ is the church. We simply meet in a building for fellowship and worship. Discipleship is the equipping of the Saints which takes place in our House Churches. The Church, by God's design, is to GO out and penetrate the community. They went from house to house, broke bread (enjoyed meals together), prayed, and learned doctrine from the Apostles.  They sold their belongings and gave to those in need. This is the Church. Acts 2

Sin:

Sin, the transgression of God's Law, has resulted in the fall of humanity from right standing with a Holy God. It is sin that keeps us separated from God. The unregenerate man is ruled by the flesh (his selfish and prideful desires and passions) and is a slave of the enemy, Satan. Man's sin makes him an enemy of God and places him condemned under the just wrath of God unless he repents and places his faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin and salvation. Gen 3, Romans 1

Hell:

Is a real place of eternal punishment and separation from God where there is unending torment for those who reject Jesus Christ. Jesus says it is a place of fire and weeping and gnashing of teeth. The Gospel parables from Jesus, Revelation 20:11-15

Salvation:

This is where one is drawn by the Holy Spirit to submit to Jesus as Savior and Lord. At this moment the Spirit comes in and begins the transformation through sanctification. This now is the start of a real relationship with Jesus. A love affair that will last an eternity and true salvation will be accompanied by fruits. Romans 10:9-13, Acts 16:30, Luke 18:26, Ephesians 2:8, etc..
